Dr. Mendelman is an advisor to Vivaldi. Dr. Mendelman is Acting CMO, Aridis Pharmaceuticals, and Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at LigoCyte Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Previously, he was Vice President for clinical development, infectious diseases and vaccines at Aviron, Inc. from 1996 to 2002, and was promoted to therapeutic group leader in 2003 after the acquisition of Aviron by MedImmune, Inc. Dr. Mendelman managed the FluMist clinical development group from 1996 to 2005. FluMist was licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2003. Previously, Dr. Mendelman was a senior research physician in infectious diseases and vaccines for Merck Research Laboratories from 1991 to 1996. Prior to 1991, he was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Mendelman received his Doctorate of Medicine and Bachelor of Science degrees from The Ohio State University. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Mendelman has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
